The new DKM Series Underwater Acoustic Beacon, by Dukane Seacom, for use wih marine voyage data recorders to insuer the recovery of the memory module at sea to depths of 6069 meters (20,000ft). For over 40 years, Dukane Seacom has been supplying high performance FAA and CAA certiified underwater acousitc beacons for aircraft flight recorder (Black Boxes) and since 2001 have been using that experence to supply the offshore shipping and containter industry with a line of specially designed beacons to meet the demanding maritime environment.
The DMK series beacons come in two models to provide an option for mounting considerations based on the type recorder. Once mounted on a memory module, the DMK series beacons can withstand years of harsh weather and environment because of the military grade corrosion protection that meets Mil-A-8625F and is backed by a 5 year warranty. In addition, corrosion resistant hardware and a 5-year battery provides costeffective maintenance for the life of the beaon. Relibality is assured by arrovals from BSH and DNV to IEC 61996-1, IEC 61996-2 and SAS AS8045.
If there is a loss at sea, the water-switch automatically activates the beacon and an acoustic signal is sent continuously for over 30days. This insures the recovey of the memory module. RJE Internaitonal supports the DKM beacons with a full line of equipment to help recover the recorders lost at sea with a broad line of acoutic beacon receivers for both subsea vehicles, ROV, and Divers. These receicvers can detect and home-in on the signal from a DKM beacon over a mile away.
In addition, the DKM series beacons are supported by test sets and replacement battery kits.
